IVY V

IVY is a minimalist and geometric lighting element composed of a ring that hangs from a cable, which feeds a custom-made LED module. Designed with single and double cables (IVY I and IVY V models, respectively), IVY responds to the need for flexibility, an increasingly topical theme in architecture and restoration, which allows the point of light to be freed from its derivation in ceiling.

IVY owes its name to ivy in English, the plant that is characterized by reaching anywhere and covering large surfaces, and is related to the grouping of lamps on several cables, reminiscent of the branches of a climbing plant. The cables intertwine and overlap just like an ivy does, adapting to the environment and framing some details of the space. The composition highlights different focal points from the different perspectives of anyone walking through the room.

The design is also inspired by rings, especially wedding rings placed as pendants on a necklace. This theme is transferred to the position of the ring on the double cable, which reinforces it as a simple but precious object and makes the perfection of its form valuable.

IVY I is a single pendant lamp that incorporates a straight cable that wraps around the ring. This pendant lamp can be hung alone or as part of a set in the multiple lodes finials.

On the other hand, IVY V introduces a territory of new solutions thanks to the new rosette. IVY V includes a double cable that forms a V, as this cable hangs from the ceiling power supply to where users want to place it. IVY V can also be used in a new multiple canopy consisting of a base with a central hole from which up to 6 or up to 12 cables can be hung. Users can create various V-shapes, starting at the ceiling rose and placing the cable anywhere they want in the room, and fixing it to the ceiling with a small black metal element.

The cable is black, while the cast zinc alloy ring is available in three finishes: matte black, extra-matte champagne, and earth. IVY projects light downwards through a long, narrow opening that has been meticulously designed to spread a rounded, homogeneous beam through its methacrylate diffuser.

IVY is a true space architecture project, since the cables become a graphic sign that defines the space itself.
