Torso stool, designed by Lisa Hilland, recalls a naked torso. The woven leather backing is like a garment or dress tied with leather straps.
Torso stool, designed by Lisa Hilland for Design House Stockholm
The Lisa Hilland Torso collection is the tuburet, which can be dressed like a naked torso. The woven leather backrest is inspired by the traditional hunter's chair and gently flirts with Swedish artisan traditions. Lisa Hilland dreamed of creating furniture that combined her two interests: fashion and design. The backrest is like a garment or dress tied with leather straps.
Lisa Hilland highly values the fact that Torso is produced in Sweden as she prefers the environmental aspects as well as the practical quality control of the locally produced design. She can often be seen on the factory floor looking for green solutions to improve the project.
Torso chairs are visually striking with their woven leather details that enchant for their originality. The Torso frame and leather backrest are made in Sweden. The combination of high and low technology, structure and clothing, creates a remarkable dynamic. This is a design that suits both the home and the public sector. The chairs can be easily stacked and we intend to have more torso gear available in the future. This will allow buyers to choose the character or "dress" that best suits their environment.
