The Block lamp is made of two pieces of molded glass.
The Block Lamp by Harri Koskinen is a modern classic. Launched in 1997, it has received numerous awards and became part of MoMA's permanent collection in 2000.
The idea for Block Lamp was born during a workshop at the Helsinki University of Art and Design. Students were assigned the task of designing a gift for a wedding. "I had this simple shape that I wanted to mold in glass and I came up with the idea of 'wrapping' something in the glass."
The Block lamp comes on a black or white fabric cord, and inside it has a small LED light bulb
