Greenhouse planter, designed by Atelier 2+ for Design House Stockholm
"When we lived in Sweden, we felt the need to get closer to nature and make space within our home for the nature that surrounds us." The designer duo Atelier 2 have created a greenhouse that is small enough for indoor use but large enough to house a miniature garden.
Green plants are a neglected area that requires innovative design solutions; precisely what Greenhouse offers. Atelier 2 places vegetation on a pedestal and protects it with glass as the delicate and beautiful item that deserves to be protected.
Worapong Manupipatpong and Ada Chirakranont originally created Greenhouse for Wallpaper magazine's annual Handmade exhibition. The Greenhouse was their way of interpreting the concept of "handmade" as a term that not only refers to the manufacture of the item, but also to the way it is appreciated. In other words, the care that we often give to plants. And this is what Greenhouse should look like: the physical expression of a broader use of the term "handmade."
