Copenhagen CPH 90 Desk, designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, for Hay
Copenhagen is a furniture series designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, especially for the University of Copenhagen in 2013. In addition to a homely and welcoming expression, functionality, durability and cleanability were important design requirements for the university. The Bouroullec brothers tackled the task by fusing design history with modern technology in a language with a strong and independent appearance in a broad and versatile series that spans both public and private settings.
The CPH 90 brings classic desktop aesthetics to a modern context. The simple but elegant asymmetrical legs of the Bouroullec brothers, together with the streamlined tabletop, result in a functional, compact and uncluttered design. The Copenhagen desk adapts to most commercial or educational environments, as well as being ideal for working at home. The frame is solid oak and the plywood top comes in a variety of wood or linoleum options.
