Lounge Ace armchair with wooden legs, designed by Hans Hornemann for Normann Copenhagen
Danish designer Hans Hornemann was inspired for the Ace series by his own life in Copenhagen. The series is aimed at urban dwellers, who prioritize quality and aesthetics, but must also adapt to the limited living space of the city. With a recurring design trait of friendly organic lines, Ace offers maximum comfort in a condensed form.
When designing Ace, Hans Hornemann worked on the basic components of a chair (back, seat and legs) and created a functional and aesthetic design with a smaller stature than traditional living room furniture.
The design is finely balanced between the refined and the relaxed. The rounded contours emphasize the attractive volume of the full upholstery and are elegantly framed by the piping around the seat and backrest. A sloping back backrest and cheeky angled legs add style and attitude, resulting in a design of timeless, carefree elegance.
