Herit armchair with oak legs, designed by Simon Legald, for Normann Copenhagen .
Traditional Danish design has made a clear mark on Simon Legald's collection of chairs and armchairs, Herit, which is short for heritage. The simple and honest style that characterizes the history of Danish furniture stands as a clear frame of reference for a collection shrouded in nostalgia. But Herit is also a design that looks to the future. Innovative production methods, new material compositions and timeless silhouettes give life to a chair that stands on its own.
Herit chairs and armchairs reflect Simon Legald's love for classic Danish furniture craftsmanship, but grew out of a desire to design a versatile and sturdy chair that unites the different eras of Danish design. Oak and plastic merge in a delicate synergy to create a durable, easy-to-maintain and affordable design made for modern living. The trajectory of the curves is in no way random; It is precisely designed to follow the shape of the body and create the correct support in the sitting position. Herit really unfolds its beauty as you move around and watch the shape transitions.
Balanced materials complete a contemporary and timeless design expression. With tradition and renewal combined in equal measure, Herit is a hybrid of time that transcends styles and eras. Whether you are moving into a classic apartment, a modernist building, or a postmodern architecture, inhabit the space with naturalness and subtle grace.
