The firm was born in Galicia in 1994 with Arturo Álvarez as owner and founder. For 25 years he led the project, leading the brand to be a benchmark in decorative lighting internationally with its designs, present today in more than 80 countries.
Motivated by his exclusive dedication to his most artistic side, in 2020 he passes the baton to its current owners Marcos Rioseco and Miguel Martínez so that they can continue his legacy from the background provided by his long career in the company.
In this way, it manages to preserve the artisan know-how of completely manual production to continue creating unique and emblematic designs.
Under the motto evo-lution, the brand embarks on a new stage in which the creative team is expanded, making room for different designers with very different sensibilities in a co-creation space in which the two pillars of the company remain unchanged: artisanal production. and “emotional light.”
Known as a by arturo alvarez, this new journey gives way to a new brand name in which, what was always our slogan and philosophy, now becomes the name of the company: a-emotional light.
Arturo Alvarez is a designer, craftsman and artist. He likes to define himself as a creator, a concept that synthesizes all of the above and with which he feels most comfortable and recognized.
Self-taught, rebellious, always curious, he doesn't like to set limits. During the early years of his career he explored and worked with figurative, nature-based concepts. I then move towards abstraction, exploring simple geometric shapes. Today Arturo Álvarez develops new forms of expression and language, with light as the central theme of the human being and his relationships as protagonists, with his light and shadow, encounters and disagreements, themes that concern us and the depth of different techniques and materials.
Recognition for his work came in the form of prestigious international awards and numerous awards as an innovator in the field of light.
In July 2020, creator Arturo Álvarez ended a stage in his work and creative life by selling the lamp company he founded twenty-five years ago. His work currently focuses on making sculptures, unique or limited pieces, with light as a common thread. He will continue to defend the same values that gave him international recognition: honesty, professionalism and a humanistic vision of life.
