Dipping Light table lamp, designed by Jordi Canudas for Marset
Beyond its function as a lamp, Dipping Light seeks to excite. On it is fascinating: its different shades of paint sift the light creating a magical effect in the environment. Apagada transforms into a colored glass sphere, an object with a great aesthetic charge.
Jordi Canudas is an alchemist of light, he is very interested in experimenting with it in order to be surprised and learn, he wants to capture the essence of light. Pursuing this goal, Dipping Light was born as one more experiment - dipping a lit light bulb in paint several times - but it became a table lamp. Thus, the various layers of paint draw concentric circles and trap the light, attenuating its intensity. The painting becomes a screen, coloring the light and giving it texture. As a support a brass base is added. This artisan process will make each lamp unique and exclusive.
The history of the Dipping Light has only just begun. Marset has not wanted to settle for just the two tabletop measurements it has had so far: its most poetic lamp expands its uses and is offered as a self-contained laptop, suspension, wall light and with a new tabletop size - ø20 cm - straddling the small and large. The colors are maintained, the typology is expanded.
