Air Cabinet, designed by Mathieu Gustafsson, for Design House Stockholm
Take a look at Mathieu Gustafsson's Air furniture collection. The two sideboards and the wardrobe use woven rattan to achieve a semi-transparent look that is contemporary and retro.
“I have been fascinated by cane weaving since I was a child, when I spent my time between Sweden and France,” says Mathieu Gustafsson. "Paris had Thonet chairs in every bistro, and Stockholm had the classic Palmgren wicker bag from the 1950s, where you could get a glimpse of what was hidden inside."
To reduce the footprint of these pieces, Mathieu plays with airy transparency.
