Small Jam Shelving, designed by Rudolph Schelling Webermann, is a shelf made to be assembled without the use of screws or tools
Small Jam shelf, designed by Rudolph Schelling Webermann, for Normann Copenhagen .
Comprised of just three different elements, the Jam shelf is a cleverly and elegantly executed design. The characteristic element of the shelf is the fact that it can be assembled without the use of screws or tools. The shelves are simply anchored in the holes and then gravity and friction take care of the rest.
“We are always captivated by the simple things that surround us, simple things that fascinate us because they only need a minimum number of elements to become highly functional final objects. Simple holes are a great example of such a thing. Due only to inclined surfaces placed against each other in friction, a wedge is capable of supporting something as heavy and considerable as a door. It was this observation that led us to design a flat shelf that can be assembled without the need for tools or screws. "- Rudolph Schelling Webermann
The Jam shelf is available in various sizes and can be placed against a wall or as a room divider. The gently rounded corners of the shelves give the unit an attractive and friendly visual expression. With its versatile design, the bookshelf works just as well in small apartments as it does in large offices, where its purity and materiality create a calm and pleasant presence.
