Is a chair? A toy? A sculpture? What is art and what is design is irrelevant when it comes to Lulu by Färg & Blanche. It may look like a pet, but then a rather stylized one just waiting to be explored. Lulu is certainly pleasantly soft and strong: to sit upright as in a chair, or to recline as in a lounger. And for a more intimate and connected way of a seating experience. Lulu is a sculpture that is also friendly and practical. Figurative and imaginative, ready to vitalize any interior. They are like living furniture that populates your home, shouts Fredrik Färg, interrupted by Emma Blanche, who affirms that Lulu will allow you to relate to a furniture object in a different way, almost like a pet. Alone, or a whole flock of them, Lulu will identify your home in a new and harmonious way. The design duo have once again doubled down on playful designs, this time in a multi-use furniture piece that adds a new flexibility to any setting.

With colors in cream, brown and yellow, Lulu can sit in a corner waiting to be useful, giving any space a vibrant, almost alive feel. Lulu is ready to jump on her own or together as a boisterous herd. Färg & Blanche once again challenges existing furniture typologies by fusing mimetic qualities with practical functionality. Lulu is also a welcome reminiscence of ancient times, when furniture took on a life of its own: pottery, tables and sofas decorated with lion's feet, an eagle's beak, whimsical plants. An animistic spiritualism that values the connection with nature within.

Lulu is a new cousin to a whole family of objects, which has been presented by Färg & Blanche since 2010. Their Succession collection has offered mimetic stools, cabinets, and mirrors in various sizes all dressed in black leather as well as colorful textiles. While the ingenuous process behind Succession resulted in a patterned sophisticated and refined expression without any seams, Lulu is a softer incarnation built on a wooden frame covered with lush foam for ultimate comfort. A furniture piece to hug as pluch toys, and that will allow you to sit on it as well. Lulu allows for a new way of sitting down: low by the floor and not so strict as with traditional furniture.

Frame: Kiln-dried solid wood, TSCA certified plywood, fiber-wrapped high-density foam on top.
