The Motta chair by Magis, designed by Jasper Morrison, is born from the creative reunion between the British designer and the Italian firm, resuming a collaboration that began in 1993. The result is a piece that perfectly reflects Morrison's philosophy: simplicity, functionality and essential design.

Inspired by the lightness and structure of Giandomenico Belotti's historic Spaghetti Chair, Motta starts from a seemingly simple idea: to create a light, compact and visually refined chair, capable of integrating naturally into all types of spaces.

Its slender steel tube frame, defined by vertical legs and precise lines, provides stability without adding visual weight. The seat and backrest are available in different versions, from recycled polypropylene to wood or upholstered finishes, allowing the chair to be adapted to various aesthetic and comfort needs.

The carefully chosen palette of red, green, blue, and brown coordinates the structure, seat, and backrest, reinforcing the collection's graphic identity and adding a subtle touch of color to its essential design.

Designed for the home but perfectly suited to the demands of the contract sector, Motta finds its place in dining rooms, restaurants, cafes, workspaces, and hospitality projects. Its understated and timeless aesthetic allows it to blend seamlessly with a wide variety of styles and environments.

The name Motta itself pays homage to Motta di Livenza, the original headquarters of Magis and the place of the meeting that gave rise to the project.
