The Cyborg armchair, designed by Marcel Wanders Studio, results from the fusion of plastic with solid ash wood.
Cyborg Stick Armchair, designed by Marcel Wanders Studio, for Magis Design
The term cyborg created in 1960 by the scientist, inventor and musician Manfred Clynes, famous for numerous science fiction novels and films, describes an organism that unites natural and artificial elements.
A synthesis that the designer Marcel Wanders interprets as the expression of a continuous search for new combinations, in a world where inventing something really new is almost an impossible challenge.
This is how Cyborg was born, an armchair with a polycarbonate frame, an ultra-resistant and versatile plastic material, on which a backrest in solid ash wood, natural or black varnished, is applied.
Material: structure in polycarbonate molded by air moulding. Backrest in solid ash wood, natural or varnished.
