Teatro table with wooden top, designed by Marc Berthier, for Magis Design .
Historically, itinerant theaters such as the Commedia dell'Arte or Molière's theater performed their plays in squares or on stages built with planks supported on trestles, the Piccolo Teatro to be precise.
The Teatro easel represents the archetype of the adjustable easel used on artists' and architects' drawing tables.
Marc Berthier rethought it for Magis at the end of the 1970s, seeking structural and functional harmony in its proportions that would allow it to be used as a work table (sitting or standing), as a dining table or console.
