Tonella Maxi

Sancal began his business journey manufacturing classic French-style armchairs. Four decades later, he decided to pay tribute to his beginnings from a contemporary point of view. Framed in the “vanity chair” typology, the small Tonella is almost a pocket seat, so it has a place in any corner. It is an ideal companion for large home sofas, but it can also be used in public spaces thanks to its solidity.

The Swedish studio Note is inspired by a barrel to recall the old Marie Antoinette armchair. Its thin rods emulate the staves of a barrel. The seat and backrest are injected with molded flexible polyurethane foam. The interior part is smooth and can be upholstered in fabric and leather. The padding on the outside draws vertical lines to simulate that the staves climb the structure.

With dimensions slightly larger than the original armchair, Tonella grows in height and width, without losing the essence of the first design conceived by the Swedish studio Note. Hence his nickname «Maxi«. Your seat is wider and equally comfortable. And… she is still as flirtatious as the smallest of the family!

Fixed upholstery, not removable. Firm and tight fabric.

Seat structure: F1 steel tube and metal coil spring, covered with injected foam and 100g fiber.

Metal base: F1 steel tube (Ø16mm) extra matte lacquered finish, with noise-removing sliding block.
