The Acapulco armchair is an iconic armchair born in the 1950s.
The Acapulco has no known designer and is manufactured everywhere with more or less strange finishes. It is found with a more or less round shape between the perfect round and a pronounced pear shape.
The legends are unanimous: there was a tourist, sometimes a designer, sometimes accompanied by a Mexican designer. The need of this tourist, sometimes Dutch, sometimes French, came with the heat of the sun and his desire like any tourist to sunbathe.
The designer was inspired by Mayan weaving techniques that cast doubt on the location of this creation, between Yucatan (Maya State) and Guerrero (the state where Acapulco is located). All legends agree that the chair would have been a great success in the 1950s and that the great stars of those years would have sat in it during their stay in the blue city of Acapulco.
