Isist
The authentic BKF chair by Isist Barcelona. Isist Leather recovers the essence of this iconic design and offers every home a timeless piece of design in its purest form.
The BKF chair has been one of the most iconic chairs in the world since it entered the permanent collection of the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York in 1944.
Its name BKF comes from the initials of the 3 architects Antonio Bonet, Juanito Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, who designed the chair in 1938 in Buenos Aires.
The BKF chair is a steel and leather chair that reproduces the shape of a butterfly whether you look at it from above or in profile.
The BKF chair is very famous as well as the Butterfly Chair. The American company Knoll is said to have made the Butterfly chair famous in the 1950s, copying the original BKF.
Since 2014, the BFK chair has been in the permanent collection of the Museu del Disseny de la ciudad de Barcelona as a fundamental piece of 20th century design.
