Exuberant Discocó suspension lamp, with its 35 American oak discs. Chrome hemisphere. Discocó collection designed by Christophe Mathieu for Marset
Wooden suspension lamp from the Discocó collection, designed by Christophe Mathieu for Marset .
The Discocó Wood is a tribute to the original and therefore persists in the dramatic play of light and shadow and, with the wooden discs, achieves an extraordinarily welcoming light. Exuberant, even when switched off, the richness of light emitted by the Discocó lamp provides direct downward lighting and, at the same time, an effective play of light and soft shading.
His detailed study of the incident and rebound light on both sides of the 35 discs that compose it, gives an attractive graduation of light shades and depth to the piece. The chrome sphere of the nucleus, where the discs are anchored, provides additional reflections. When the lamp is turned off, it preserves its attractive presence, suggesting that expansion of energy that makes all the sense when using it.
35 American oak pressed wood discs and black chrome dial.
