Baseman's childhood, always present in his work, is re-embodied in these figures with a haunting smile and shiny porcelain. The smallest of the tandem has the ubiquitous third eye framed on his chest and a butterfly that perches on the back of his head. The largest is surrounded by roots that run through the legs like veins to the heart, where a nymph straddles a branch. Fantastic elements and relationships with nature are of the utmost importance to the American and have completely marked his artistic production.
The Guest is a project by Lladró Atelier, the brand's think tank that embraces the creativity of internal designers and collaborations with external artists. Using The Guest platform, Lladró invites renowned artists to give this original porcelain creation a distinctive personality. Lladró Atelier, the brand's laboratory of ideas that invites leading artists from all over the world to personalize this particular character.
