Mariolina chair, designed by Enzo Mari, for Magis Design
Enzo Mari, considered one of the greatest exponents of Italian and world design, designer of innumerable objects that became true icons, but also an avant-garde theoretician, loves archetypal forms and, starting from them, extols his elaboration, his talent, his forward momentum. Mariolina makes no exception.
The image is only apparently that of a small chair from the '50s, but with a series of additional details, which transform a humble chair into an intelligent object: the section of the legs in chromed steel tube is finer and more precise and, moreover, the polypropylene seat and backrest are not fixed to the structure by means of screws or rivets, but by means of a series of molded plastic ribs that embrace the metal structure on the hidden side of the seat and backrest.
Material: structure in chromed steel tube. Seat and back in standard injection molded polypropylene.
