The Flip XS table by Jesper Ståhl is not one table, but three: a dining table, a desk and a sideboard. Finding a solution was a challenge that required a lot of experimentation – and 14 hinges!
Flip XS table, designed by Jesper Ståhl for Design House Stockholm
With the Flip Table, designer Jesper Ståhl solves a common problem for those living in small homes. Its composition gives the table a different look, depending on how it is configured. It folds lengthwise to create three different sizes. The legs fold one behind the other and part of the table top folds up while one side folds down, forming different surfaces that add character and multiple uses.

It can be used as a dining table for six, as a desk when folded once, or as a sculptural side table when folded twice. There are no loose parts; instead, the 14 hinges that adorn each side provide the solution.
