This version of the Lounge Elephant armchair has a natural oak structure and is upholstered with sheepskin.
The Lounge Elephant, designed by Kristian Sofus Hansen and Tommy Hyldahl, is a modern interpretation of Scandinavian minimalism combined with Japanese aesthetics. The design is inspired by Danish upholstered chairs from the 1950s, while drawing visible features from the now iconic Mammoth Chair. The result is a sleek and lightweight lounge chair where the elephant ear backrest gently curves around the body for superior comfort.
The seat and back are made of the highest quality compression molded oak veneer shells. The two shells are pressed into the same press mold and surround the body in a smooth, light curve. The legs are designed as a single profile with no visible joints. This enriches the experience of the strength of the material and the exchange between light and heavy dimensions; "Elegant and simple but robust without being clumsy."
Material: Oak wood frame. Seat and back upholstered in sheepskin.
Measurements: 75x80x96cm - Seat height: 38cm
