Benny Frandsen is the founder of Frandsen Group A/S and celebrated the company's 50th anniversary in 2018.
It all started when Frandsen founder Benny Frandsen, a young electrician, designed his first lamp, the Ball lamp, first introduced in 1968.
Benny Frandsen, who in the 1960s made prototypes in the basement of his home in the Danish town of Skanderborg. The round lamp was introduced as a wall and pendant lamp and especially the wall lamp with a strong magnet was very popular. When Benny Frandsen won design awards, the ball lamp became an integral part of virtually every house in Denmark, and today most Danes have a special relationship with the small round lamp.
Today, the Frandsen brand creates timeless, decorative lighting that inspires curiosity and adds character to any space, and with inspiring lighting designs, brightens the lives of people everywhere.
Since then, design label Frandsen has continued to evolve Benny's designs by staying true to their design heritage while striving to make our designs last and inspire generations and marrying Benny's timeless classics with the new to come.
