Formakami JH18 table lamp, designed by Jaime Hayon, for &Tradition.
East meets West in Jaime Hayon's playful twist of a traditional Asian lantern into a contemporary expression.
For centuries, paper lanterns have appeared in Asia among the privileged and the poor, where different colors, shapes and sizes connote different meanings. Here Hayon has dispensed with cultural formalities to create a series of lamps entirely in white.
Handmade with rice paper fusing various sizes and shapes. The series consists of three different versions of the lantern and a table lamp in ivory white rice paper with details in black stained oak.
Material: Paper
Measurements: Diameter 38cm – Height 50cm
