Lauro floor lamp, with chrome base, designed by P. Aragay and J. Pérez Mateo, for Marset
The Lauro lamp collection was first published in 1973, a design by P. Aragay and J. Pérez Mateo, and now, almost fifty years later, it is being reissued and presented to new generations with the conviction that good design endures over time.
A collection that symbolizes the essence and origins of Marset , when design became a strategic pillar of the brand. Its structure and materials evoke the emotional language of the past, allowing us to reconnect with it. In times like these, contemporary spaces require beautiful, three-dimensional objects that express, inspire, and fascinate. Lighting fixtures that champion the values of authenticity and originality, and that surprise with their presence.
This design blends past and present, and its reissue remains faithful to the original: the base and stem, available in chrome or carbon, are made of steel, a difficult material to shape, typical of the industry at that time. In the 1970s, bending steel was innovative, a tremendous challenge, and it still is today. That's why Lauro is also a contemporary design, because it highlights the achievements of half a century ago. The methacrylate screen is available in translucent opal, projecting diffused light, or in two-layer black for direct light.
As with the original collection, it is offered in a table version (41 cm high and 38 cm base) and a floor lamp (with the same base and 135 cm high), and now a 50 cm high wall lamp version has been added. In all versions, the shade can be positioned to direct the light by rotating it and adjusting its height along its structure. Regarding the lighting, Lauro, once again, embraces a classic aesthetic, emulating lamps of yesteryear, and operates with a single bulb, in this case an LED.
A striking object that evokes the past and stirs emotions. Lauro draws inspiration from the aesthetics and legacy of the seventies, updates them, and aims to become an icon.
