Body is a design by Sylvain Willenz for Sancal. The name of this chair refers to its backrest as it is inspired by the silhouette of the human body, specifically the back and shoulders.

This ash wood chair is made with several layers of molded veneer to shape a structure with organic, soft and simple lines. The uniqueness of the branched ash of its exterior and the curvature of the shell create unique details for Sancal's first “non” upholstered chair. The quotes make sense because Body is not only available in ash veneer, but also offers multiple finishes.

Starting from a single and humanized casing we present a wide collection. In addition to its natural finish, it can be dyed in all the colors on our dye menu and there is also an upholstered version. In addition, a practical padded textile cover has been created that can be easily removed or put on at any time. Both upholstered options are available in a select group of fabrics.

Now, we add a new dimension to the versatility of Body: a base with a sled leg, with a lacquered metal structure, designed especially for auditoriums and public spaces where the seating configuration must be adjusted according to the capacity.

The other leg options available are those with a cantilever base, fully upholstered, as well as with wooden, metal legs and also a base with wheels. The metal arms can only be attached to seats with 4 wooden or metal legs.

In short, a new basic, elegant, sustainable and minimalist, that works in all types of interior designs due to its universal and customizable character.

Material:

Ash veneer: laminated board seat and backrest structure, high-frequency pressing, finished in tinted branched ash.

Base with wheels: extra matte lacquered finish metal. Height regulation by means of gas cartridge. Silent wheels of 59mm diameter, black-gray, with double hard treads, made of nylon and steel.
